Don’t be surprised if you hear this when picking up your phone. It is no joke – Gordon Brown, the prime minister of Great Britain is using cold calling techniques to get closer to the public.

As a measure to find his way in the turbulence of British politics, the prime minister is ready to hear from the people. Any ideas and suggestions will be much appreciated. It is nothing new in United Kingdom because John Prescott is believed to be the trailblazer of the cold calling politics.

As an idea it is not bad. There is nothing wrong with listening to people. The only problem is that the public opinion is already negative – many people questioned on the streets about the cold calling prime minister expressed negative thoughts. Other members of public may just as well hang up on Gordon Brown mixing him with some kind of impressionist-hoaxer.

Anyway, we hope that this political cold calling campaign will bring some new ideas to Downing Street and refresh prime minister’s Public Relations profile.
