We have probably all heard of the “clever” homes, also called “talking” homes. A couple of years ago it was just scientific fantasy but now it seems that future homes are becoming a thing of present day. In this years “Home of the Year 2008″ award, the silver prize was given to a “talking” home that hates telemarketing calls.

Created by Solar Home Systems, the future home has solar panels on the roof, automated lights, motorized blinds, a full package of energy saving systems plus a talking home security system. Internet and telephone is fully integrated, thus you will be able to control settings even being outside the home. As a telemarketer, I am more interested in the telephone system. It will be a clever one! On a receipt of an incoming call, a nice robotic voice will ask for the caller’s name. Allegedly it will recognize all the names and if no name is given (an automatic telemarketing call), it will hang up. I cannot understand how would it recognize the names. For example, I got this friend whose name is Ponkirthiga - it means he will never be able to call me because the system will think that he is a fake :D
