Today was the day when the Canadian Do Not Call list was scheduled to start functioning. Instead of that, the DNC malfunctioned and left the people frustrated. The idea of a national DNC list in Canada has had some really troublesome past. Anticipated by both individuals and legally operating telemarketing companies, the website refused to work today - on the official launch day.
The English version doesn’t work at all while the French version crashes after you enter the phone number you wish to register. Looks like the nutty domain of the site www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca lives up to its silly appearance. I know that the Do Not Call list of Canada is new, but if it cannot function from the very beginning, will it succeed in providing safety for individuals and a healthy environment for telemarketing companies?
